Welcome to Beautiful Beaufort Alliance
Why this site exists, what it will cover, and how you can take part in the decisions shaping Beaufort.
Beaufort is one of the most beautiful places in the country. The marshes, the oaks, the historic downtown, and the islands didn’t stay that way by accident. They are shaped every month by decisions made in council chambers, planning commission meetings, and zoning hearings.
Most of us don’t have time to read every agenda packet or sit through every meeting. That’s where this site comes in.
What this site will do
- Explain what our local governments are deciding, in plain language.
- Follow land use and development proposals from first filing to final vote.
- Point you to the source, with links to agendas, minutes, ordinances, and public records whenever possible.
- Offer an opinion. I will tell you what I think and why. You are free to disagree.
How you can take part
Public bodies work best when the public shows up. You can:
- Read the agenda before a meeting and contact your council member.
- Speak during public comment, in person or in writing.
- Request public records when you want to see the documents behind a decision.
If there is an issue you think deserves attention, get in touch.
Thanks for reading.
